I'm back from TW - Taipei 11-16 May 09 trip!
What a nice trip even it is tiring and i even got sick. Overall the trip is worth going. thumb up!
Well, we stay at Xi men ding paradise hotel. A 3 stars hotel, it isnt very wonderful but fair enough for us to stay over for 6 days. Xh and i share a room, the room is damm cold even the aircon is off and we have to wrap ourself up like hambuger.
Below is the schedule and place we visited at TW. The rest of our free time we spent at Xi men Ding. It is a street like bugis street.

Taipei Day 1 to Day 3 (11th to 13th May 09)
Day 1 (11th May 09)
Reaching Changi Airport early in the morning at 6am
Leaving Singapore to Taiwan – Taipei at 8am
Flying with China Airline
Having our meals in the air
Reaching Taipei – Taoyang Airport 4hrs later, nearly 1pm
Checking in Xi Men Ding’s Hotel – Paradise Hotel around 2pm
Our first stop is Xi Men Ding. Saw a lot of signboards around who are famous Singer.
We were so hungry that we decided to eat. First stop is Ah Zhong Mee, it cost about 40NT which is only S$1.80. The texture is quite similar to Shark fin, very sticky. The ingredient is pig intestine.
After that we went to eat the goose mee soup. 50NT about S$2.30.
Then we took the Ximen MRT to Danshui
TW is so much different from SG, all the direction is opposite. SG driver is on the right side where TW is on the left. Even taking the escalator, they keep right where we keep left. TW people don’t overtake or pushing when talking lift, escalator, train, bus, etc. unlike S’porean everything also want to be first. They follow orderly. They are all very nice pple.
Reaching Danshui MRT station, we took R26 bus near the train station to the end of the bus stop, we reached Fisherman Wharf (Lover Bridge) to see the sun set.
After that we went back to Xi Men Ding. The 2 guys went for a hair cut. S$20 per head. By then it was about 9.30pm. We went to coke forest to take our late dinner.
Day 2 (12th May 09) - Follow Tour
Early morning 7.30am follow the tour to our first stop CKS Memorial Hall.
Then we travel about 40mins distance to Jiufen. A must go place if you visit Taipei. We bought a lot food there at Ah shin’s shop, u thought it will be Mayday’s Ashin shop but it is selling local dry food. Haha. Then we ate the famous so call for us fish ball soup and their cold chicken.

We had a lousy BBQ Lunch. There is nothing for the Ma La soup except BBQ food. Then we went to another local dry food shop before we head to Martyr’s Shrine to see the guards changing parade.

Then we went to Mao Princess’s House to see their Min Zhu princess and their local food.
Next stop is the Lucky Charm Centre, then our last stop at Miramar Shopping mall with ferry Wheel. Actually our last stop is Hot Spring, because we need to be naked. We decided to give it up. Hahaha.
After taking the ferry wheel, we took the free shuttle bus to Shihlin Night Market to meet up WL and her family. By then my camera is out of battery so I don’t have any photos of it. There are a lot of good food and a big street of clothing shop, it is like bugis street too but it is much more bigger. Around 10pm plus we took train back to hotel and rest.
I managed to take some photos by using NJ's camera. Below are the hawker centres at Shilin.. It is quite a big place.. but all in chinese.. making me a bit blur.. haha

Below are the streets with all the shops. we didnt complete all. But we did some shopping at adidas shop. hee..
Day 3 (13th May 09)
We took the train to Taipei City hall to meet WL and her family, around 10am when Taipei 101 open. We bought the ticket up the tower. Oh man, the lift is damm fast. It only took around 37 sec to reach the top.
After that WL and her family went for a tour, We head to New York New York to take our lunch. Jap Ramen set which only cost $180NT. OMG, that is so cheap. Only cost S$8.20.
Then we went back Xi Men Ding to rest before we meet WL and her family at Wufenpu. We ate the famous Hu Xi Zhen, it is damm nice sia. Unforgettable.
Wufenpu is warehouse place where u can get cheaper price if u buy more. It is best to go after 3pm and not on Monday. I think girls will like it very much.
After that we went back to hotel. End of Day 3.

Taipei Day 4 to Day 6 (14th to 16th May 09)
Day 4 (14th May 09)
We went to Long San Shi Temple in the morning. It is a well known temple in Taipei. Near the entrance/exit of the MRT station, you can see a lot of elderly playing board game just like Chinatown. So lucky, we saw the old man fighting.
After that we met WL and her family at Taipei City Hall MRT station to take a cab to Jay Chou's Restaurant. We lost our way at first because the address I got online seem to be another location. The trip cost around 110NT. To our surprise his restaurant is inside a school.

Then we took the free shuttle bus beside the school back to train station. We head to Taipei Main Station to take the railway train to Pingsi (Sky Lantern). We didn’t really know the road well but managed to reach at ruofeng an hr later. Then we need to take another train to pingsi but we have to wait nearly 2hrs so we decided to take a cab which cost about 600NT. To me it isn’t a very good idea because it is worst than going up Genting Highland. There is only 1 road down and 1 road up. I felt giddy all along the route.
We had a lousy dinner up the hill. 8 dishes and 1 soup which cost 1500NT. We didn’t finish it at all.
After that we went to release the Sky lantern. There are a lot meaning for different kind of lantern color. I choose the white one.
Then we head back to hotel. End of Day 4.
Day 5 (15th May 09)
WL and his family took the afternoon plane back to SG. We continue our exploration at TP, we went to Leofu Village. We alight at Jingan Station in front the entrance there is a bus stop for Leofu village. The cost is about 230NT to and back. Entrance fee is free, given by our tour agency or else it would cost 890NT.
I didn’t play much, I was already half dead by then. I was having flu the day before, I caught it during the visit at Taipei 101. On the way back, I managed to take a photo of TW Mei.
To our surprise when we reached Xi Men Ding. It was on fire, the fire engines are all along the streets.
After that I rest all the way till the next day (16th May 09) because I was sick. Sob sob. They continue their shopping at XMD. At the airport, i finished my rest of money on food and magazine and a very special USB which can connect you to TW radio staion. Cool man. I was listening to it now.
Overall I enjoyed the trip. Thanks Xh, serene, nj and wl for their care.
